sent my olwell order in

I was just put on the list for a keyless boxwood with tuning slide and rings. I do believe that the longest year of my life has just started

You have no idea =;^)

Boxwood, eh? Cool. I just got my first boxwood instrument, a Rose whistle - it’s a little drier sounding and not quite as loud as the Blackwood Rose I used to own. I’ve always wondered how Boxwood flutes sound. I bet yours will be beautiful, especially once it ages a bit and gets darker in color.

Good luck with the wait! I should be hearing from Patrick anytime now, so hopefully my wait is almost over…

Drummer -

I believe you’ve made yerself a good decision to wait for an Olwell. I just spoke with Patrick on Monday who let me know that my flute will be ready by the end of the week. This was, indeed, a long year. I’ve been playing my first flute for the last 2 1/2 years: a Pakistani made wood flute which has served me well.

After the wood flute cracked about a month ago, I decided to get an M&E…the new Ruddall model with split emboucher. Wow! What a difference. It’s amazing. I’m wondering how much better a flute can sound.

Anyway, I hope your year speeds by.

Regards,
Jeff

thanks jeff and loren,

I hope you get your flutes soon. Hey jeff, while im waiting for my olwell Ihave been playing my seery and what a great flute for the money. Those polymer flutes are great instuments to perfect your flute playing on while you wait for your pride and joy. And they seem like you could beat of an attacker with them to!!

Don’t forget, too, once you get your great new wooden flute, you won’t want to take it camping, or play it in the hot tub, or where you might get it dunked in a swimming pool, or outside in the snow on a winter day…

Keep your polymer flute as a practically indestructable backup flute which you can play in environments that aren’t friendly to expensive wooden instruments.

ya know, a year long waiting list is not that
bad. being a uilleann piper the majority of the time, I can speak with expierence of the
waiting list for pipes. here’s an example
1.geoff woofe= 12yrs
2.alan fromient=8yrs
3.david williams=5yrs
4.kirk lynch= 3yrs
5.bruce childress=2yrs
I had to wait 1yr for my baritone regulator
and a 1 1/2 yrs for my tenor reg, you’ll
be amazed how fast a year goes by.

James,
You forgot DM Quinn: 3-4 years.
dave
