www.firescribble.net has the contact info–look under directory of makers.
Last I talked to him his wait list for a keyed flute was about six years.
Doc
Six years plus, probably.
He’s quite responsive to phone calls; his number is on Firescribble, as mentioned before (Brad Hurley’s site). If Brad’s not updated it, Pat’s area code is 434 (I think it changed in the past year or so).
Stuart
SIX freakin’ years? Nevermind. I could make my own damn flute in six years.
ps - Thanks for the info anyway!
If you can make one as good as Pat, call me - I’ll put my order in first - before YOUR waiting list grows to 6 plus years!
Hey that’s the spirit!
Hey, Jonathan. Didn’t you come to a few band practices with Lyon College a few years back?
Cheers,
Aaron
Hey, Tim –
Having heard you play, all I can say is … if you ever do get that Olwell, can I have your old flute?
You could grow your own tree and make your own flute.
That said, I’m on the list…only 5 3/4 years left! I’m starting to get real exited!
Doc
Hey Aaron
Sent you a PM.
Kinda gives a whole new meaning to “don’t hold your breath”, doesn’t it?
Hey, great minds and all that. I just contacted him about one for the wife who’s fallen in love with my Olwell.
Somebody else will receive the keyed flute,
not you, even if he has your name and your
memories. A ‘descendant self.’ By that time
you will be fanatically interested in
Concertina. Ordering a keyed flute
from Pat is an act of altruism for
some future person, maybe.
I want it NOW
I think you hit it on the head there. In six years, will I still want the flute?
I played a flute by a guy called McMahon from Clare, 6key cocus. The owner says he only takes special orders now. It was on par with the Olwell I played.
Hey, does anybody know what the wait for a keyless is? And how much he charges for one? I guess I could ask him, but if someone here knows, that would be nice.
I got to play an Olwell for the first time several weeks ago, and it was unbelievable. The guy who owns it suggested I get on Pat’s list and start saving for it now. I’m really tempted.
Max
Sorry, I don’t know about Olwells, I’m just here to say hi to Max. Hi Max!
-Kelly
Hi Kelly, hope you’re doing well, I’ll get to your email soon!
twelve months more or less, probably more.
About 1300, I think, for a silver lined
head. Correct me please, wise ones.
But there are various models
of keyless. Search should help.
Large holes, medium, small.
Boxwood costs more.
He makes unlined flutes, no slide,
for less and faster.
