San Francisco Tionol

Early registration for the tionol ends in 2 weeks, so send those checks in now and save yourself $5!

Anybody got a room for me for the Tionol? Its John Manning, some may remember meeting me at my house during the last Seattle Tionol. I’m a happy drunk, cheap date and since November, I’m a Dad! I promise I’ll keep you up all night and your neighbors too with the best of tunes and songs from Cork.
Or is there a nearby hotel that will be taken over by visiting pipers?

Bump!

Comin’ up soon now…

If the weather is anything like it was this past week and weekend in SF then it will be SPECTACULAR for pipering and also for getting a break from the cold that is prevailing elsewhere.

For those who may be interested…my start date at UCSF is May 1.

Looking forward to seeing you all there. NoE and I will be motoring up on Friday… can’t wait!

Pat.

I’m flying up friday noon ish for lunch with daughter no2. Where are we doing Ethiopian food?? The Blue Nile is no more ( the one in Berkeley) but the one on Telegraph towards Oakland is still there???

You’re killing me, man! The Blue Nile is closed? I guess the one on Telegraph will have to do–I’m jonesing for some injera real bad.

No E

Ah! the SF Pipers’ Club tionol. Come for the food…stay for the piping.

Friday or Saturday?? Saturday nite would be fun with the group; Saturday lunch with Ted at the chinese place on telegraph

I’m game!

Pat.

Paddy,

Did you say you’re game? I thought so!

It will nice to see you all again. It’s been a while for me.

I am no better a player, but what the heck.

Looking forward to it.

Cheers! Richard

Mmmmm…Ethiopian.

J.

OK…so I am an All American boy. Any good burger joints nearby? Just curious!

Justine, are you bringing your new piper to the Tionol?

Cheers! Richard

Richard- we’ll talk Hetchins as well- bring some pics

Hopefully Madame Pres will order from Zachary’s again

Ted’s right-come for the food- stay for the piping (or was that the Milan tionol that Edmund T. was planing?)

Yes, we will be ordering form Zachary’s on Saturday for lunch, and I believe the club will be covering the cost. Just an added incentive…

J.

He won’t be allowed to play the pipes; we are planning to have him play the fiddle. (We’ll see how that plan works out, he’ll probably end up playing the electric bass or something).

J.

Or digeridoo… :boggle:

Bump.

I finally got to meet the aforementioned digderidoo player. Come to the tionol and you can too!

From the San Francisco Chronicle

(02-12) 11:11 PST SAN FRANCISCO – Save for a last blast of showers this afternoon, Bay Area skies will be clear and dry this week, weather forecasters said.

“We’ve got one more straggling storm to deal with this afternoon – we should start seeing light rain between noon and 4,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Steve Anderson. “Otherwise we’ll have clear skies and dry weather between now and Saturday.”

The temperatures will stay “close to normal,” Anderson said, with highs of 60 to 65 degrees and lows around 45 to 50 degrees. On Sunday, the region may see another day of wet weather, however.

Sounds roughly like the weather we had two years ago at the last tionol. Should be grand weather for the old pipes. Looking foward to seeing everyone again this weekend!
