I am looking for feedback on Sam Lawrence who took over pipe making from Peter Hunter. Nothing sinister here just to know what it is like to do business with him.
After perusing my collection of piping magazines and other literature I can find no mention of a pipemaker of that name. I can only conclude that he doesn’t exist.
I’ve recently been dealing with Sam Lawrence at Hunter Pipes and he is outstanding to work with. His e-mails are timely and informative. They are ready to make my pipes right on the schedule they quoted when I placed the order, but I’ve held it up a bit with changes on my end and they’ve been very flexible in accomodating my requests. If you can get on the Hunter waiting list, I would highly recommend it.
I have a C# chanter from Sam and it’s great. Nice guy to deal with too. No quams.
Patrick.
For sure One of the MOST gifted makers & a wery kind person

i paid sam to make me a set of bellows over a decade ago
he couldn’t do them in the end and his mother sent me a cheque for refund
i lost it and lost touch with sam too
however i caught up with him a while ago and explained that i was owed money
he told me that this had all happened when he was a student
in the end we came to an agreement
he fitted 2 keys on my chanter which would have cost 150 pounds, exactly what i gave him for the bellows
so in the end he honoured the transaction and did not argue over the outstanding amount
he showed himself to be a person of honour, very agreeable and helpful
I can’t find any pics of his work or sound files on the net! Anyone have his website or something else?
Cheers
GO to his great web site
