I was intrigued by the Tenor Guitar FS that was posted on this board a while back, but didn’t really to spend a lot of money on anther instrument. I thought that perhaps a Baritone Ukulele, which is tuned like the highest 4 strings of a guitar might be a good substitute and came across this cheapie:
I also found favorable references to it over on Ukulele Underground (the C&F of Ukuleles), so I decided to risk the princely sum of $29.99…
Man, for thirty bucks including a soft gig bag and free shipping this thing is SWEET. I’m not going to tell you that it looks, sounds or feels like a great handmade instrument, but for the price it’s really amazingly good. Any guitar player would enjoy this as a great beater instrument to take to the beach or on picnics. It would be terrific for teaching kids to strum too. I’ve had it for only 3 days and already feel I’ve gotten my money’s worth. Check it out.
