I’m not surprised that it’s a quality instrument. I steer people looking to buy a guitar in the $200-$800 range to Yamahas all the time. It’s always the first brand I mention for an entry level guitar because they really do produce good instruments. I even bought a Yamaha FJX730SC this past Christmas for a friend who had done me a huge favor (it was an upgrade from his Washburn D100) and he raves about it. Their instruments are great value for the money.
I’m another big Yamaha fan. Great products for reasonable money. Let us know what you think after a while playing it.
So the tuning is just like a regular guitar?
Like a guitar with a capo on the fifth fret. You can use all the chords you know, but their pitch will be raised.

I read your post, checked it out on YouTube and ordered one on Tuesday. It came in today. Amazing sound for something so small. I’m going to have fun with it. Wow!!!
Just got back from backpacking at Capital Reef National Park in Utah and visiting Bryce Canyon. My Busman delrin whistle has now been to the Grand Canyon twice, once rim to rim, to Texas and Wisconsin and Minnesota and Nebraska and points in between. To play it in the slot canyons at Capital Reef gave me the shivers, it simply echoed. Lots of memories get collected playing in the outdoors and then when I play at home I get flashbacks (positive ones) of the other places.
