riverdance?

does anyone know who makes a good recording of riverdance with most of the movements WITHOUT the vocals? I’ve been trying to find a good one but they all have vocals. Thanks!

There are only three Riverdance videos available, as far as I know - the original Dublin production, the Broadway production (which includes more dancing and more vocals) and a documentary called “Journey to Riverdance” which gives a history of the show. That last tape concentrates primarily on the dancing, although most of what you see are disjointed scenes of rehearsals (and the legendary angst of Michael Flatley).

I suppose you could always lower the volume during the vocal scenes…

You can buy the Riverdance soundtrack on CD which has all the music, and very little background noise etc.

Just remember, it’s ALL copyrighted material, so you can’t play it for anyone else, anywhere other than your own living room, without running the risk of a huge lawsuit and some steep fines.

I also hear that the Riverdance production is releasing a new video of it’s most recent performance in Switzerland I think.

Should be good, but I’m not sure if that helps you any.

If you want to play the music yourself, I believe The Whistleshop has the collection. It’s a book, that doesn’t cost too much. But you have to know how to read in some odd time signatures, such as 15/16. JP
