A friend has ‘lucked’ into a Pakistani flute. Lucked in that it was free and not too roughly made. It does have the expected intonation problems e.g. all over the map. There is also a crack on the barrel.
I know some makers have re-reamed, re-tuned and re-voiced such flutes before. Rod Cameron comes to mind but last I heard he know longer does this.
Is there anybody that touches these flutes and how much roughly it would cost?
None that I know of. I wouldn’t do it.

There are tons of nice flute out there, and a lot of great makers that make cheap model for starters…
spent a week with your pakistan flute, than buy a proper one and use your pakistan one to warm up the house.
You’re preaching to the converted here and this is certainly not my flute. It was a freebie and I was just curious if anybody did this and if the cost would still be significantly less than buying one of the lower cost, higher quality flutes like the CB Folk Flute, or the delrin options like Copley or Forbes.
