remember the etch-a-sketch?

i had an etch-a-sketch when i was a kid. i made a lot of squares and
squiggles and doodles with it. not much else. it was pretty difficult
because the artwork that you create is, in fact, a single line. you
cannot pick up the stylus, nor can you erase only a small part of the
picture if you make a mistake. if you make a mistake, you’re stuck
erasing the entire screen. :swear:

take a look at this. if you’ve ever used an etch-a-sketch, you’ll know
what i mean when i say :boggle: :boggle: :boggle:

(i found the music annoying and turned off my speakers.)

That it takes only five hours is amazing!

Feh… what a hack! The ball’s not even round!

Impressive!

Wow! Way more patience than I ever had for the thing. My brother and I used to “etch” lines back and forth until the entire front was scratched off just to see the inside of it.

I never had one, but my cousin did. It did nothing but frustrate my brother and I , who both drew as play, and still do.

I guess its’ novel to take hours to draw something on one, but why not just pick up a pencil and paper?

go onto flickr and do a search for etch a sketch, there’s some great stuff on there.

Used to have one years ago, it had lay on transparencies to put over the screen, so you could work your way out of a maze, or whatever.
