OK I have a pair of Aulos Recorders. One is the #309 Alto in F I think, and the other is the soprano in C I think. Both have bags and both sound pretty good. Way to many holes for my little peebrain. I would love to trade them for another whistle. I realy neeeeeeeed a Bb that is half way desent. But almost anything will do as long as I dont have it. So if your are interested send me an email and I will get right back to you. No I dont want money. WhOA ya know.
Good thinking you give your email! You’ve seen the general opinion about them recorders. I suspect some take it seriously, and would better die than face the board
after replying :
“Hey Blackbeer, you got a private message about them Japanese redorkers! Will you swop for my Abell Bb?”
Though, you’re safer than selling a Kerry recorder
Though… when I was recently commissioned to buy one of these 8-hole things for a kid enterin high school, I did pick the Aulos after tooting in a couple others. Good hunch : reportedly the music teacher inspected the pupils’ recorders, set my protégée aside, saying “ok, this one is no problem : it will be in tune”.
And if it was a double-keyed tenor Aulos you traded, I might have given it a try.

I just wanted to change the number of viewers from 69.
But hey there must be some lousy 15 dallor whistle out there sittin in a corner somewhere getting all sticky and spiderwebby thet just needs some fresh spit ran through it. And look you could give these away to someone who would treasure them. Heck you could put the head on a whistle(see Subivka I did go back and search old posts) and they realy don`t sound to bad.
Tom
And by the way Happy Hollidays to everyone.
(You see that is the conjunktive of holy and holly minus one l and changing the y to i excp after…
Well, I only have on Bb that I’d trade, which is an unmodified Generation, so not worth your recorders. Too bad, I’d like them. I don’t play well, but I am stumbling through a learn-to-play book and would like an alto, as well as another soprano.
Oh, well. Don’t suppose you’d like to trade for something else? I’d throw in the Generation for free! 'Course, I don’t have any other whistles I’d part with except the Cooperman and that sucks. I don’t normally diss any whistle, but this one is just too much a piece of touristy junk.
Patrick; I`ll tell ya what. Send me your address and they are yours. Merry Christmas.
As far as the whistles are concerned, well you know what they say you can never have to many.
Well I’ll probably get blasted for saying this but I play both the whistle and the recorder. I find I can play the lower recorders better than the low whistles. O:-)
Oh ya C Tenor single key, pear wood. God I loved the sound of that thing. I have now idea what ever happened to that sweet heart.
But alas I never took the time to realy learn how to play it. I for one have nothing against recorders or for Barouke(have no idea how to spell it). I love it. Heck I even love anciant Briton music.
