quoting question

How do you quote someone in your post ? when I try to quote a line or two from someone,s comment onto my post ,I first click the quote tab on that post and then delete the lines I dont want, but you then lose the white box and who the quote is by ,so this method is no good,
So how is it done properly and how do you do multipal quotes ?

Do this:

type
(or hit the quote button above the text box) to start a quote and type
to end a quote. (or hit the same button again)

type
and
to start a quote attributed to someone in particular and to end it.

Doesn’t it need to be

with quotation marks around the name?

I,ll try that Thanks

cynth was right to keep the white box

There’s a “quote” button above where you type your message.
Or you could use Alt-Q
Click the “close tags” link when you’re done typing.

You could HIT the quote button. COPY the generated quote text. DELETE unwanted lines. SPACE DOWN and then PASTE in the generated quote text again… and DELETE unwanted lines…REPEAT AS NEEDED.

So it does.

I wasn’t thinking, because in html you can sometimes get away without the quotation marks.

I only know because I leave 'em out every darn time and have to do it over again.
