Hello Evryone
Actually I want to restart making some flutes and whistles ,but as i see i need some aid cause I have problems.
I want to produce a A,G and a Low D ,so ,does anybody know a calculator for that like the flutomat for constructing flutes?
Actually i use the flutomat for constructing a 8 hole irish flute,i want to produce her out of an aluminium tube (Since I play colins whistles I like the sound of aluminium made instrument ),and actually searching for a shop to get some tubes for a try .
Which material would you suggest as a alternative or 2nd try?PVC ?
And a special question ,i d like to produce a penny whistle like a clarke whistle ,does anybody have ideas for that or a construction sheet?
Julian, I’ve collected some informative links on whistle-making. Note, especially, the “low-tech” link (the best introduction, IMHO) and the TWCalc software.
Hey Craig
thx for the links ,i try to use the program actually, even if it sounds like subject chinese for in some moments.
Maybe I can start to produce the first on the weekend if I find the right settings for my whistle keys that i want to produce.
I have produced A, G and Low D whistles using a simple formaula based on the percentage length of the bore. PM and I will be glad to pass on my experiences.
So,the first one is finished, but too difficult to play her (steal tube).
Actually, after i found some construction sheets i plan new whistles, but i ve got one problem actually:
Those fipples which I actually have have wrong inside diameters .
So,does anybody know a whistlemaker who´s selling Single whistle fipples?
greetings;Julian
But,I use(d)Aluminium tubes for the body instead of pvc ,and tried the fipple in with pvc ,but it didn´t work well for me ,maybe i´m not practised enough.
