Would any of you kindly chaps know where I could get a set of simple dots FREE for “The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba”?
I can’t be arsed to sit down and try to work it out by ear…I just wanna see if it could be played on the squeallers, just like Frankie Gavin did it with the fiddle.
Even playing it on the flute would be cool, methinks.
I’d offer a bounty of a pound of midges, but the season hasnt started here yet, and theyd probably rot in the post anyway.
And I bet no-one out there knows what to DO with a pound of midges, anyway.
Thanks in anticipation (although I won’t hold my breath for a sensible answer)
It can be done alright,
Transpose it to G.
It used to be up on the Finale website. You can download a free version of finale from the site and then move the key to where ever you want.
Exactly,
e.g. Start with the top line and at bar 5 switch to the violin part.
It’s great on the pipes.
You can do some great regulator stuff too. There’s a few oppertunitys to take the bottom hand off the chanter and do some counterpoint on the regs too.
Tommy
…for the musically anencephalic members like me…can you tell me what the first bar or two go like in G… i’ll take anything vaguely resembling ABC format…just a few notes to make sure I transpose right would be the badgers bollox
mmmm…think i’m getting there… got Finale notebook and have (i think) the first page…seems like there’s 4 pages but have only got one so far…but thats a good start
