Yes, I saw that.
However, umlauts are not universal, apparently. For instance, once when I began the study of another language, I found variations on certain vowels, in particular, a and Ƥ, and, o and ƶ. So, my being an attentive student, I asked around, as could the letters Ƥ and ƶ represent the letters a and o, but with an umlaut? Well, and in a word, no, the particular language which employs the letters Ƥ and ƶ is not a germanic language, and indeed doesnāt even have a word for umlaut! That is, thereās a and o and Ƥ and ƶ, and thatās all there is to it.
BTW, as Ƥ and ƶ are not part of an English keyboard, and as the keys they otherwise occupy are needed for communication in English, itās been necessary for me to switch my keyboard back and forth repeatedly, just to bring this umlaut discourse to you, dear readers. For instance, thereƤs Ć+= uses the same keys as thereās
No need to put yourself so much out. To type an Ƥ, just hold down the Alt key and enter the digit string 0228. To type an ƶ, just hold down the Alt key and enter the string 0246 (this is assuming a qwerty keyboard and Windows).

Actually, for me to change keyboards involves spinning my trackball onto an icon in the upper right hand corner of my screen, and two clicks.

Just waiting for the re-opening. I donāt usually join in the fray, but this place sure is boring without the procto-port.
Besides, where am I supposed to get my non- and totally- biased reviews of recent events? Please, oh, please, Undisputed One, donāt force me to resort to TV!!! 
At least when it reopens we can stop talking about Sarah flippinā Palin for a minute or two and concentrate on other lightweight matters such as the collapse of the worldās banking system. Socks stuffed with cash under the mattress, anyone?
