Also if you compare the placement of the keys and toneholes on the Hawkes and the one piece body etc i believe it is the closest style to the Boosey Pratten of all other flutes.
I have a Ward flute which is a Hawkes based flute but it has a 2 piece body… so either Paddy’s Hawkes is from a series of flutes that had two piece bodies or Paddy chose to make two piece bodies.
Anybody have more knowledge about this?
Either way it’s a monster flute though the oval embouchure isn’t quite as easy as the 2-circle embouchure on my Olwell bamboo. But once I adjust it sparkles. Part of the adjustment comes from irregular playing influenced by the rigour of GHB competitions.
