Hey all,
A friend of mine on another forum is working on a school library project called “Reading Roadtrip.” She would love to get postcards from all over the world to “engage the children’s curiosity and to open their eyes to more than their own back yards.”
If any of you would be willing to send her a postcard from your home area (and, if your first language is something other than English, perhaps include a sentence or two in that language, with a translation), she would absolutely love to have them. After the library project is done, the postcards will be given to the schools 4th and 5th graders for their geography classes.
I have her address at the school, and permission to give it to people I feel comfortable with, but I don’t want to post it on-line. If you’d like to send a post card for this fun project, please PM or email me (my email is nickel at cruzers dot com) and I’ll give you the address to mail it to.
BTW, you don’t have to come from some exotic location to participate! It will be as exciting for the kids to get postcards from different states as from different countries. I’m sending a postcard of the redwoods in a nearby state park.
Here endeth the public service announcement. Now back to your regularly scheduled program, already in progress.
