played for dome fellows

My wife & I and another couple played for a salvation Army rehab center Tuesday night and it’s always fun to hear to reactions when I start strapping on the pipes.

I could hear whispers as I’m donning the beastie, “what the heck is that?”
awesome.
What a great time of sharing/ministering with music etc

Excellent,

My Granny and Aunt were with the Sally Ann, they do good work.
Everyone need a little music to cheer them up.

Tim

indeed.
my friend who counsels there, said several of the men stepped out of the sanctuary to track down tissues.
missions accomplished I say.

It amazes me how few people know that the uilleann bagpipes are bagpipes.

I point to my bag and ask them to guess what that is, then point to the drones and ask what those are, then to guess what instrument it could possibly be.

Most people guess right but there are still some people don’t get it even then. :really:

wow, just now realized the thread says “played for dome fellows”

instead of “some” fellows…

what a dunce!

I just presumed you meant that the audiece was a bunch of old, and bald geriatrics who were probably gumming their way through their tea while you serenaded them.

I thought you were using Clockwork Orange lingo and were trying to say “playing for my homeboys”.

surlies..

I still chuckle remembering the time a lady came up to a piper and said, “I know that’s some sort of bagpipe, but…where do you put the batteries?”

I thought the “dome” was a local landmark where the Sally Ann would go to minister.

Tim

Strappin’ the Kraken you are!

I’ve always enjoyed playing at church and seeing the looks on people’s faces.
