piping on the water, humidity

i’ve been hanging out on my sail boat about 4 days a week lately and my pipes and reeds have never sounded better or have been more behaved. i was a bit concerned at first because the gauge reads 90-94% every morning and drops to 56-62% by mid afternoon. i play an hour or so each morning and then the same at dusk. somehow i must be equalizing the moisture to the amount the reeds like. any of you have thoughts or experiencese in these conditions?
the sound of the pipes being played below 60-80 foot bluffs is incredable, the natural echo and beauty, i am definetly in my own movie

best fom the cockpit, tansy

You Rascal! :stuck_out_tongue: Hey tansy, get some plastic reeds. Ever looked at good cane, endgrain, through a microscope (or even good Magn. glass)? You’ll see all these little tiny drinking straws that inhale the moisture from the air, which likely feeds the rest of the blade.

Nice boat you got there. For an ultimate canyon experience, try Lake Powell in Arizona in the early spring, or come on up to the San Juan Islands where every place is like being on a boat
