Friends of the Pipers’ Gathering,
LAST CALL!
Pre-registration for the Gathering closes on July 18th. After July 18th, registration will be at the door. Register now and be sure to reserve a room at the Killington Grand Hotel at the conference rates. Booking information for the Killington Grand and nearby locations is available on our web site at:
http://www.pipersgathering.org/LodgingGrand.shtml and
http://www.pipersgathering.org/LodgingOther.shtml
All of these rooms can be booked by calling 1-800-282-9955. Please be sure to ask for one of these rooms from our “block” of rooms for The Pipers’ Gathering in order to get the better conference rates. It is helpful to all of us that you book one of these rooms, as the rates for using the convention facilities are based on us utilizing these rooms. Do not book through the Killington website, as you will not get our conference rates and the room will not help fulfill our committment.
TRANSPORTATION NEEDED
We have instructors arriving in Boston and in Burlington who are in need of transportation to Killington on Friday and back on Monday. If you can give a lift to one of these people, please contact Bill Gority <WGority@pipersgathering.org>.
NEW VENDORS/PIPEMAKERS
We are excited to have some new pipemakers joining us this year. Be sure to check out this year’s lineup on our website at http://www.pipersgathering.org/InstrumentMakers2008.shtml.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons are still available with Tom Creegan (Uilleann), Dan Houghton (SSP), Ian Lawther (NSP), Martin McCormack (Uilleann), and Fin Moore (SSP/Border).
PHOTOGRAPHERS
Our Esteemed Webmaster has asked that anyone with good pictures of the event they wish to share send them to him <webmaster@pipersgathering.org> after the event for inclusion in our photo gallery. We have hundreds of pictures from the last 9 years for nostalgic browsing!
MEET & GREET
Friday evening at 7 will be the time to catch up with old friends and make new friends in the new location at the Snowshed, across the walking bridge behind the Killington Grand. The Registration table will be open then, so you won’t have to stand in a line on Saturday morning. Please bring some pipes with you and make some music. There’s plenty of room for anyone that wants to play.
That’s it for the July update. We’ll look forward to seeing you in Killington in just a few weeks!
