Wanted to share the pictures of my new Casey Burns Flute and the Northwind Flute Case out of Tucson, AZ.

This is his copy of a Rudall. Not only does it look great, it plays even better. Casey does not produce a hard case, so I explored the Northwind Cases Inc.(northwindcases@aol.com) and had great success with them. This French Case is made of Spruce with a leather covering. I supplied the owner, Jim, a picture of the flute and all of the measurements that he required and he provided me with a case, the flute never left my house. The case, when it arrived, fit the flute exactly, and I mean exactly, a perfect fit! I didn’t think that was possible, I envisioned having to return the case for changes and adjustments, but that didn’t happen. Of further interest, Jim told me he had never built a case for one of Casey’s flutes and this would be his first one. Hey, the guy really knows his craft!
I recall all of the hastle that folks have gone through obtaining a case for their flutes and I even looked at the gun cases that were suggested. Nothing wrong with a gun case and I even think that there may be some advantages to a plastic case–I just hated the look of a gun case for a flute. I’m a law enforcement officer by profession, and every time I picked up the gun case, I wanted to kick in a door and flute someone to death. Decided that a nice hand made French flute case might be a better option. Needless to say, I’m really proud of both the flute and the case; hope you guys don’t mind and can tolerate and indulge me for a moment. Thanks.
