Pat O'Riodans email?

Happy New Year all!
My computer has been down for a couple of weeks so I have quite a few of your posts to catch up on (wouldn’t want to miss anything!)
My other excuse is that I got a lovely O’Riordan d whistle for Xmas and haven’t been able to put it down!I would like to thank Pat again, and ask him a thing or two about the whistle - anyone have his email for me? Thanks all.

I don’t know why, but I got the impression somewhere along the line that Pat doesn’t do e-mail, you have to call or write him. Can anyone confirm or deny this for us?

He does do email… I’m away from home now but will let you know what it is when I get back tomorrow if someone doesn’t hook you up first… Peace…

I hate writing this, but in a telephone conversation with Pat, he expressed to me that he prefered to not have his e-mail address made public. His reasons were that he had enough trouble keeping up with letters (snail mail) and telephone messages. Pat has an excellent public opinion about his customer service and I think he much wants to keep it that way.

I’ll send Whistlepeg’s e-mail sent to Pat and let him do the rest.

Also, Pat’s e-mail address has changed. The Juno one is not so useful these days.

Mark is correct about Pat’s email address. He doesn’t want it publicized. I’ve deleted the post that included his old email address on this thread, with apologies to the well-intentioned poster.

Pat had no compunction at all about providing me with his new e-mail address, without my asking…I suspect it’s because I am always very respectful in my correspondence with him, and have only e-mailed him when it was absolutely necessary (in this last case, a terse message to inform him of an e-mail/phone change, as I am on his waiting list). Though I’ll wager that for most members of this community it needn’t even be mentioned, still it is certainly something to think about, especially for neophytes who go mad with anticipation over their first hand-crafted instrument. After all, fine whistle craftsmen are busy enough as it is, without the added annoyance of recurring ‘where am I on the list?’ e-mails. I for one have always been mindful of this. Perhaps it is this very thing - doubtless among others - that sent our forlorn Mr. McHaffie over the edge!

You’ll notice I didn’t say “Pat doesn’t HAVE e-mail” I said word has it that “Pat doesn’t DO e-mail”

Thanks to Mark and Dale for clearing this up for us. It’s interesting that Patrick Olwell has a similar policy.

Loren

Thanks for the info everyone. Thanks Mark for offering to give my email to Pat.
Actually, I did have his email/phone/address but misplaced them over the Christmas rush!
I really only wanted to let him know that his whistle arrived here safely, and that it is absolutely beautiful, and I am thrilled with it. (He doesn’t need to contact me!) So if you talk to him…please pass that message on for me. Thanks,
Sue
