Paddy Keenan - The Long Grazing Acre

I am thoroughly enjoying a new album - The Long Grazing Acre by Paddy Keenan and Tommy O’Sullivan. It is Uillean pipes and low whistle and is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend it.

I’m very fond of Paddy Keenan’s playing and really like this album too. There’s something to like about every album Paddy brings out.

Check out his Web site: http://www.paddykeenan.com/, especially the interview that my friend Zina Lee did with him. Great stuff!

Great interview - thanks for sharing that!

I had the opportunity for a brief chat with Paddy during a break at a performance at Kieran’s Titanic Lounge. Very friendly and humble, and all about the music; so much so that when it came time to get back onstage, he snuffed out his unfinished cigarette and put it in his pack for later rather than take a minute to finish it.

..Or maybe he couldn’t get away fast enough!

This album, along with Lunasa is why I’m on the waiting list for a Grinter low-F.

I agree as well. I got both the long grazing acre and Michael McGoldrick and John McSherry playing together on the album at first light. Both are amazing albums I got for about 5 bucks at Amoeba in LA, which is the most amazing record store I have ever been to.
