Padding materials for bellows?

I’ve heard foam can work, you know the squishy stuff… Any other options? My bellows isn’t padded, and I’m a rather boney person by nature… At the moment I’m just using a folded up sock! Which works, but looks kinda silly!

I’ve used a dish-washing sponge  . The size is just right for my bellows.

Glue it to a 1/4" piece of wood the same shape and wrap it in leather - I bought an old black leather jacket at a thrift store for $5 and I cut pieces out of it as needed.

Attach the pad to the bellows with velcro, available from any department store.

You could try eatin a few more Big Macs
But seriously  over here you can get small chammy covered sponges from car accessorie stores ( for use on the inside of your windscreen), they seem to be about the right size about 4 1/2 " x 3" x 1 3/4"

Or you could contact CJ Dixon who is a member on this forum. He makes bellows pads - which are nicely done, IMO.

They look just the job

I recently bought a CJ Dixon bellows pad and it is really nice. It was easy to install and is made well and looks great, not to mention that it feels good also. Don.

I had good luck at the auto accessory store, as well. I bought a large chamois mittten used for polishing and waxing, I cut it into two nice pieces and velcroed one to my existing pad. It’s very comfortable. Cheers.

Supersize me! hahaha

Over here you can buy sponges padded with suede.
Used to wipe car windshields.
I use one and it works great.
