What do you use for Key pads???

I’ve been using leather… I’m still pretty new at keymaking any suggestions, cork…etc…

thin closed-cell craft foam seems to work pretty well. One choice is ‘foamies’ brand from Darice, you can get it in 2mm or thicker, in different colors. I think the Michael’s chain in the US carries it.

Then again I use leather a lot as well.

Neoprene wet-suit rubber!!! :thumbsup:
Diving shops usually have some in rolls for wet suit repair. A small peice goes a long way.
Completely air tight!

Thin sheet of rubberized foam (black) for window insulation. Sounds weird, but it works.

I use kid skin clarinet pads. They’re classy, come in all sizes and all more expensive than the above suggestions but still pretty cheap for what they are: the right tool for the right job, etc. My pad seats are salt spoon type though which makes a bit more sense for the round felt filed pads.

If you’re more concerned about utility than aesthetics then foam and rubber may be the option, otherwise stick to leather.
