Overload

I have…let’s see… work tomorrow, orchestra final practice tomorrow eve, work, concert Fri night (stress), then perhaps check out the dancing at the pre-high school reunion after concert, High School Reunion all day Sat, pack and leave out Sun am for an 8-9 hour drive to the beach with the grandyoungun. Too much.

I should be getting things organized and ready.

I am not.
Instead I’m here. :stuck_out_tongue:

Heh. Never do today what you can put off until tomorow.

You can’t do that stuff without being properly prepared in your head: relaxed and ready for the thrash.

That’s why you’re here.

And remember 'ol Nitchy’s words: “That which doesn’t kill us, only makes us stronger”. I’m going to see how I can apply that to speed reading someday.

Brendan Behan once said, among other things..“It’s a hard life but it’s the only one we have to be goin’ on with”

Slan,
D.

Well…yeah! Who wants to work when you can come and play with us?

Well, tonight’s rehearsal went fine, was great fun…inspite of ol’ Carmen and that horn. I’m gonna get there extra early tomorrow eve, to get the stage lights on those drums, wait till they’re heated up and then tune and set my marks.. I’ve learned that stage lighting puts out some serious heat that makes my timpani do weird things.

One day at a time as they say.
Tomorrow- work, concert, perhaps reunion dance.

Funny, at our first school reunion, two years ago, I was stressed out. Then I found that I can act as crazy as I did way back then with the “fun” folks. No stress on this one..neah…think I’ll wear my old blue jeans and “crooked road” t-shirt. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, this place keeps me focused…not necessarily on what I should be focused on…
I should be getting stuff done, but you are right Izzy, I’d rather play here.

concert #2 done!..and I’m tired.

Counting 473 bars rest and then going “BOOM!” must be exhausting.

Wow, I gotta get me a setup like the one you have!

We’d rather have you play here, too

That makes sense about the timpani. I didn’t think about it until you said something, but yeah…it’s funny how extremes in heat or cold can effect the sound of any instrument.

How did the reunion go? And I wish I were going to the beach with you. I LOVE going to the shore (or down the shore as those of us from New Jersey say  ).

That was awesome.

 Yeah, just imagine the stress of having to get that Boom in there at just the right time…

Izzy, I wish you were going with us too! I’ll get some salt water in my eyes just for you. :stuck_out_tongue:

When you’re an orchestra’s percussionist, you might not play much, but they’ll sure miss you if you don’t play at all..
