OT: Weapons of Mass Destruction

With apologies to all my American buddies on today of all days, but you should try this before it’s too late:

  1. Go to Google.com

  2. type in (but don’t hit return): “weapons of mass destruction”

  3. Hit the “I’m feeling lucky” button, instead of the normal “Google
    search” button

  4. read what appears to be a normal error message carefully.

Martin, I did as you instructed and got a good little chuckle
And there’s no need to apologize to us Yanks - most of us do have a sense of humor and can laugh at ourselves… and our government, too! Especially our government!!!

Martin,

Thanks for a great laugh  ! Sometimes the best humor is that with a fair amount of truth and irony.

Travis

Beautiful!

That’s a great one, Martin.

Classic! I just sent it to 10 friends around the world.

PC

Hilarious.

I saw that last night, when ChrisL told us about it. Looks like someone found a unique way to capitalize on Amazon’s affiliate program!

That is superb!

That’s great! if you follow the link “Detect Weapons” you get to see “Pieces of Intelligence: The Existential Poetry of Donald H. Rumsfeld” on amazon.com

Hilarious!

PR

That’s very funny. How did you learn about that?

That was pretty good! I’ve seen a similar one for Error 404, this page sucks and cannot be displayed, etc.

Robin

It’s growing:

Lordy, I feel all trendy…

PC

HA!!!

That is hilarious!!! My parents and I cracked up when we read it!

Thanks for posting about it!

Also, if you follow the link “Bomb”, you get to see “Dr. Strangelove” on amazon.co.uk.

Aaaaugggh! This sounded like great grins and so I just tried to find it… followed the directions, but and no matter how I do the search, I only get a page on WMD from the Monterey Institute of International Studies – whether I use “feeling lucky” or the regular search. This makes no sense based on the quoted article about the popularity of the spoof or whatever it is… it should be the top result. Could it be gone!!! :sniffle:

Yup, looks like the fun page is no longer the lucky one.
As to why, let the speculation begin…
