You’d be surprised by the fauna abounding in some real “farm” cheese in remote areas of French and Corsican mountains…
The little (1-2 mm) white bugs, insects in fact that dwelled in some cheese from Auvergne used to gross us out, in boarding high school…
Then the cook told us these cutie-bugs were called “artisans” (i.e. craftsmen) by the farmers, so we’d eat the whole meal without picking too much in it
