Okay, here are my two lightbulb jokes, Made them up myself;
How many Whistle players does it take to change a light bulb?
It takes 1 to screw in the light bulb and 56 to discuss how Joanie Madden would have done it.
and…
How many Low whistle players does it take to change a light bulb?
Who knows, they’re all too busy arguing about which light bulbs Davy Spillane uses to ever get around to changing the bulb!
Thank you, thank you, you’ve been a great audience. Don’t forget, I’m Loren B. and I’ll be appearing here at the Improv twice a night through Saturday. You can also catch me on the road at the Comedy Shop in Albany on the 13th - 14th, and Rusty’s Comedy Ranch in Nashville on the 15th through 18th.
Thanks again, you’ve been a wonderful audience, see you next time, goodnight!
That’s hilarious! I read it to my parents and they cracked up! Who ever came up with that joke really pays attention to things. Just like Whistlepeg said - it’s true!
Enough light bulb crap already. Why aren’t you people posting about the things I think are important? Why are so many of you wasting time reading and replying to posts such as this one?
Oh my, did I really just type the above words? Humour is a valuable thing, and it’s nice to see it remaining intact in so many minds here. Here we share playing tips and tricks, CD suggestions, family news on occasion, consumer reports of sorts, and, yep, even humour.
I really appreciate you fine folks.
Great stuff.

I was going to mail your posting out to some of my friends but there were so many spelling errors that I changed my mind!!
Consider this the obligatory flaming of the spell checker.
I currently have 25 different bulbs, and I’m considering getting a few new ones. Should I get an incandescent bulb, or a flourescent?
If I go with the flourescent, should I get the 36 inch or the 72 inch?
I like the inexpensive, mass produced incandescents, but I’m considering forking out some money for a high-end 72 inch custom flourescent. Has anyone else installed one of these? How do they look?
Has anyone tried the GE bulbs? How do they compare to Westinghouse?
Do you think incandescents are more traditional?
Is it better to use a method book on bulb instalation, or should one just watch bulbs being installed and figure it out?
What sorts of bulbs are the famous electricians using?
I like the GE incandescent bulbs for their portability on the road, and for their sweet, rounded light. They are best for reading poetry and literature. But the Westinghouse flourescents are a bit more long lasting, energy-efficient, brighter (and harsh if not carefully installed) and they seem to work better for paying the bills.
I don’t care for the mid-range Japanese-made bulbs at all. They are give a rather harsh, unpleasant light, and I’ve heard they have some serious quality-control issues. Has anyone tried tweaking them?

I know that you were talking about incandescent vs. fluorescent (which you spelled incorrectly, by the way) lightbulbs, but have you considered halogen? I’ve had a lot of good luck with my halogen bulbs and the supplier that I use is the best. It might be more than you want to spend, but in the end I think that you’ll find both the output and effeciency well worth the cost. IMHO you might as well start with the best.
I hope that this shed a little light on your queery.
