OT: But beautiful; kinetic sculpture worth seeing

If I weren’t involuntarily unemployed and otherwise capital-challenged, this is the sort of thing I’d love to support:

Clicking on the “Portfolio” page will get you to animations of each sculpture. We saw some of these a few weeks ago at a showing, and they were wonderful.

If, like me, you are fascinated both by the organic and the mechanical, and by the captivating look of wood, I think you’ll like this stuff . . .

That is totally AMAZING. Thanks for sharing!!

Wow.

they look really fantastic. watching the “quasar” makes me feel dizzy.

Far out, man–groovy cuckoo clocks :sunglasses:

Put one in front of your TV and you got a great screen-saver in your den

Those were awesome, Herbivore! I liked Stars, Fire, and Tranquility.

Wow! I couldn’t stop watching thouse things. I was staring on the screen for at least 15 minutes. I feel so relaxed. Thanks mate.

Thank you so much for posting that link. These things are beautiful and hypnotic.

Wonderfully fascinating!

It brought to mind my first discovery of Moire patterns as a kid with two combs. I also saw them in window screens and curtains. Later I used concentric circles and other designs on overlaying transparencies.
This artist is obviously fascinated with them too.

Try this link and catch the Moire bug:

Edited to include an explanation of Moire patterns for the scientific minded:

And to suggest a google search for the curious.
