I read that Google has started now to use personal web browsing information for its adsense partners to target surfers with ads tailored to their browsing interests. This hits everyone. Still one can opt-out, but one needs to do so actively. I found this how-to:
Every time you visit website/blog partnered with google (google Adsense) it will store your surfing habit in cookie on your machine and next time when you again come across such website it will use this cookie to display ads which are based on your interest.
You may opt out of Google’s Interest based advertising by visiting > Google Ads Preference page > & clicking the “Opt out” button which sets a cookie of opt out Interest based advertising users.
However when you use different browser or clear cookie from your browser Google will again start showing interest based advertising. Another alternative and permanent solution of opting out of Interest based advertising in to install open source > opt-out plugin > designed by google itself.
