It’s true. NorCal’s been possessed. The Bhodran Demon has him by the short and curlies!
Screams of “Steve! Don’t do it!” don’t seem to reach from Swindon all the way California so I thought the next best thing was to start a thread where we can all send heart-felt words of encouragement and maybe the odd exorcism NorCal’s way…
sorry chris, i only have the walnut nuage, i never bought the blue type, go ahead anyway and buy it!! http://www.saltarelle.com/page4.htm but i’m gob smacked at last
Don’t be fooled…it’s a heavily disguised hookah pipe, French-style .
As for me, I have a Remo hand-drum which is brilliant when you end up at a “Folk session” (as I did last week) where you know very little by heart of what’s being played. And the bodhran player present is absolutely dreadful! Beats sitting around doing nothing.
Folk music covers at least six different cultures around here…English, Welsh, Scottish, Irish, Breton and American assorted…
I can’t believe Norcal would go over to the Bodhran. I have one and I have a video tutorial. The Bodhran is on the wall and the video is in the cabinet under the TV. Some day I am going to watch the tutorial.
Saturday afternoon I stood in the Walden Tent at the Milwaukee Fest and was floored by the number of people who said they were buying the special fest bodhran package to Hang On the Wall. Granted that is exactly what most of them should do, however, I was supprised to hear that that was their initial intention.
Maybe NorCal also has a hidden talent involving interior decoration.
What’s all this then with the Bodrans being bought and not played? There are poor children in China that have to play on hat boxes. Were these expensive?
Just goes to show americans will buy anything.
St. Patricks day is the best time of year for a vendor though, when else can you sell a Kiss me I’m Irish shirt to anyone who walks by. I mean anyone, a english friend of mine bought one. For the love of god he speaks the queens english and people at the parade thought he was from Ireland.
