i watched only the first vid at the moment, thanks for posting them!
daithi maguidhir looks amazingly like davy maguire ( ) is that actually his real name? how does it work with names in ireland?
Yes, that’s the Irish spelling of his name. As the documentary was made to be aired on an Irish speaking TV channel, the majority of contributors spoke in Irish, Davy no exception.
i tried to find this show in the past and now thanks to sanyallana i am able to watch it!. so, my vote go to sanyallana for president, and big davy for vicepresident…

Ceird an Cheoil was a great series and fair play to Méabh, Conor and the crew at Stirling for their great work in making the whole series.
I think Sam’s episode was probably my favourite, as it’s obviously all flute based, and I used to love going into his workshop in Exchange Place when he was back in Belfast. I found the whole place to be fascinating - was kinda like my version of Willie Wonka’s Chocolate Factory as a child.
There’s a 300MB download of this episode for another few days also, if anyone’s interested from the BBC website, as BBC 2 has taken an interest in this excellent series:
Affirmative! He’s now my favorite-sure to beat Nader anyway! Thanks very much, Davy for posting the links, and to all who made it possible!
Funny, Sam’s not an old geezer like I pictured, and Michael’s just a youngster too! Great playing by all and nice to be able to make a visual connection to the fluters finally.
