David

Davy for President!!!

:lurve:

i watched only the first vid at the moment, thanks for posting them!
daithi maguidhir looks amazingly like davy maguire :astonished: ( ) is that actually his real name? how does it work with names in ireland?

Yes, that’s the Irish spelling of his name. As the documentary was made to be aired on an Irish speaking TV channel, the majority of contributors spoke in Irish, Davy no exception.

… and there’s Michael! Hi, Michael! Rock on!!!

Davy, can’t thank you enough for spotting these clips and posting the links. I’ve been wanting to see this video for years.

yes, we haven’t heard from Michael in an awfuly long time… :swear:

here’s the first video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuVWT_r-Dew

YEAH!!!

My joy is complete.

I just finished watching — many thanks! That was incredible. I wanted more.

Does anyone know of a place to order an original copy? Or at least a way to download the segments?

A wonderful sampling of insight for those of us stateside; both the crafting and the players. Lovely, just lovely!

Thanks, those were fun to watch!

YES, YES, YEES, YIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEPEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

TG4 really is a super TV station.

Ceird an Cheoil was a great series and fair play to Méabh, Conor and the crew at Stirling for their great work in making the whole series.

I think Sam’s episode was probably my favourite, as it’s obviously all flute based, and I used to love going into his workshop in Exchange Place when he was back in Belfast. I found the whole place to be fascinating - was kinda like my version of Willie Wonka’s Chocolate Factory as a child.

There’s a 300MB download of this episode for another few days also, if anyone’s interested from the BBC website, as BBC 2 has taken an interest in this excellent series:

Happy downloading!

RATS! Big ones…

Thank you for the link. I hurried there to download the program, but apparently we are not allowed to download from the BBC here in the states.

Sigh! :sniffle:

Affirmative! He’s now my favorite-sure to beat Nader anyway! Thanks very much, Davy for posting the links, and to all who made it possible!

Funny, Sam’s not an old geezer like I pictured, and Michael’s just a youngster too! Great playing by all and nice to be able to make a visual connection to the fluters finally.

Would make a nice DVD set for sure!!!

… but that was 6 years ago. Who knows what life’s tribulations have done to them since then.

I know what you mean, Michael, my picture is about 4 years old too.

Lousy one!

No probs for the link. I just thought I would share it, incase anyone didn’t know about it already.

Does it even let you play it, or can you just not download it?

It’s just nicer to see the whole episode in one sitting IMO, rather than having to go through all the wee youtube clips, dis-jointedly.

Is it even let you play it, or can you just not download it?

it doesn’t play, because i’m not in UK :frowning:
