Ok, in the French taunter scene in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, John Cleese calls the Englishmen “Knnnn-ig-ts,” pronouncing ever letter in the word “knights.” I never understood what he was saying until a friend of mine explained it to me recently, even though I’d seen the movie about 2583 times.

Wow! That is so amazing. I think the video is starting and stopping because of so many people watching, but I saw the eagle turn its head. Isn’t it incredible to see something you would never otherwise have a chance to see? I have seen some cameras in other nests, and it is just remarkable, but never in an eagle’s nest, I’ll be sure to check back. Also, how wonderful that so many people are interested. That gives me a little hope for humankind!
Say, has anyone heard about some question concerning the existence of the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker that they seemed to think for sure they had found? I came across something I forget where about there being some question about it. I will check, but just curious if this was something everyone knew about but me.

The company that is hosting the video cam of the eagle nest makes software that grabs a series of stills, bundles them, and then broadcasts them as a short burst stream. This is what you are seeing. Re. the ivory-billed woodpecker, ornithologists are almost nearly absolutely sure they have caught a glimpse on video of what might have been one of these birds in the southern US, thought to be extinct for several decades. There is only one real way to prove that this was, in fact, an ivory-billed woodpecker, and I am heading down there with my 303 to help out.

It is really very cool discovering it again. They have caught one on video, as it is flying away from them. Very cool indeed. Thanks for the link to the eagles Dave.
I just know there’s a nest somewhere on my little hill, and I haven’t been able to find it. I’m too short and the spruce are too tall. So much the better for the eagle family! Thanks for sharing this view.

I’ve been flipping through their forum between watching the eagle cam (replay, presumably, given the hour here EST).
Seems there have been more developments: One egg is gone…presumed disposed of by the parents; one egg remains.
David Hancock seems to have decided the remaining egg is not viable…
