O Bheal Go Beal ,The bicycle diaries

For anyone who can get RTE1,heres the TV guides pitch for the programme which is on RTE1 7.30pm Monday 12.
This three-part series celebrates the 75th birthday of the folklore commission, which is now the department of folklore in UCD. The first programme explores the great tradition of music through the bicycle diaries of Seamus Ennis. The 23 year old cyclist from Finglas travelled the country collecting music, song and story for the commission during the war years and went on to become the greatest piper of his generation. In addition, the body of music and song collected by him has become something of a national treasure, with his field notes and diaries inspiring generations of future musicians.
