NGC 2442 eh? Another evocative and descriptive name from the astronomical community. Punny or not, I’d be for renaming it the Fishhook Galaxy.
Looks more like the result of pulling the (swallowed) hook out…
Well, I wasn’t too far off the mark. The person who discovered it, Sir John Herschel, dubbed it the Meathook Galaxy. I like fishhook better though, cause of the constellation it’s in.
