new web page and address for the Mike Rafferty tune book

Just wanted to send a quick note here,

The Mike Rafferty tune book now has its own web page thanks to Brad Hurley:
http://www.firescribble.net/rafferty/index.html
Here you can look at the cover, a sample inside page, and the table of contents.
This site also contains ordering information, frequently asked questions, detailed background on many of the tunes, testimonials from people who’ve bought the book, and a list of errata.

Thank you!

Lesl

Yeah, Lesl!
Yeah, Brad!

Several people asked me at Augusta where they could get a copy; this will make it easier to find.

Thank you both for doing such a great service to the flute universe.

I must get a copy. Don’t wanna be a “mad eejit”.

Well, too late for that, but, you know.

Yes you must! It’s a lovely book. Even for tunes you know well, you’re likely to find a note here or a triplet there that makes the tune suddenly very fresh.

Nice web page, too.

Carol

It’s already in its fourth printing since January!

It is indeed an excellent book, the best transcriptions of flute playing I’ve ever seen, and I love having the background info on the tunes from Mike, Lesl, and Paul de Grae.

It’s OK, we love you anyway.

Seriously, though, the settings are cool, especially his workarounds on some of those “spiky” fiddly tunes. Biiiiig light bulbs going off for this gal …

Wow thanks guys!

And special thanks to Cat for the Eejit slogan

Paul’s research actually was the impetus for getting the site up. I couldn’t fit it all in the book, and I couldn’t bear to not have it out there.

Brad is a true magician putting it all up so quickly and nicely.

:pint:

Forgive me Father Dougal, for I have stolen your line …
