A few years ago, several of us noted an excellent audio recording by flutist Peter H. Bloom, demonstrating a five-key flute in crystal glass and silver by Claude Laurent (1837), one of many fine instruments in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston. The Museum recently posted a new video of Peter performing on the Laurent flute, which gives further insight into this remarkable instrument.
