New uilleann pipes EP by Valerio Vettori

Hi UP people,

I’ve just released “The Old Windmill”, a three tracks EP available for free on bandcamp and soundcloud.
It will eventually become a physical EP with a few bonus tracks this year.
I play concert pitch pipes that i set up with narrow bores in mind, with just one or two drones running and making light reeds to match my Aebi Kennedy style chanter.
The tune selection comes mainly from Cork area sessions, place where I spent one year.

I particularly enjoyed “Wheels of the World” which was a favorite of mine way back in my old fiddle playing days.
Back then, I didn’t know how to deal with tunes that extended beyond the range of the pipes.
Now that I’m older and wiser and a bit more proficient on the pipes, I think I’ll revisit that tune again. Thanks!

were you playing paddy fahey’s jig played in g but with a bflat? it sounds like that to me, it changes the character of the tune a great deal - very enjoyable playing

yes it’ in D natural minor, with a B flat. This key is always forgotten but I consider it very interesting!
