hello, I’m posting to let you know about a new school of music that I have founded. The O’Rinn School Of Traditional Music is based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. You can check out the website at http://www.orinn.ca. As we are brand new and just building, please stay tuned to the site for regular updates. Comments and questions are most welcome and thank you in advance for any interest!
Let us know when you get the photo gallery up and the menu planned. This sounds like a great adventure.
Huh. Can’t decide if this is the coolest idea ever or just plain insane. Much as I love St. John’s, I can think of darned few musicians I could justify spending $2000 plus plane tickets to study with…
LOL, I know that the price is high. So is Davy and all the other masters that I plan on having. Also the venue and catering is very expensive. I do plan on lowering the cost once our own facility is built but that is a little further in the future. I do mention that one could reduce the cost by sharing rooms etc. Heck one could sleep in a rental van for all I care. My big goal is to reduce the cost and make it available to most who would like to come. We are in our infancy but, as you can imagine, the masters make a lot of money at their concerts, and I do have to offer them substantial compensation to come. I may have to operate at cost until our facility is built but I do understand you’re concern. I recall that I offered you my floor etc.. at one point. Stay tuned. All concerns will be ironed out.

I guess the idea is to hire those few musicians who people will pay that much to study with and also experience Newfoundland. But as noted in my previous post, I do understand you post.
