Hello everyone, just thought i’d introduce myself. I have only just started to learn the Penny Whistle (four weeks) and i have managed to learn a few easy numbers (3) and i am hoping that forum members might be willing to pass on tips and advice ocassionally. Thanks folks!
G’day Solo, I’m a new one here myself and by the sound of it, at about the same level as you so far. This mob seem alright to me and they’re pretty quick to offer help and advice, which is bloody good for people like you and me. Welcome to the forum.

Im new too and while the wife can play Im at the “blow in this end” point. I can play (well I call it play, wife would probably disagree heh) “amazing graze” by memorization 
thats about it so far.

Can already play a few songs after a fashion lol and i am now going to attempt to learn “The Dawning of the Day”. Singing or even humming the tune plus getting the fingers to obey are the most awkward for me lol. Never mind there’s always practice, practice and more practice to iron out any errors
But don’t stop there! Listen to EVERYTHING and then try to play it. If it’s got a tune you can hum, it’s a tune you can probably whistle. (Stay away from Do The Hustle and Sweet City Woman, they’ll get stuck in your head for days!)
Before you know it, you’ll be able to pick up a whistle and have the tune jogging around your brain come out in a recognizable, if not pleasant, fashion on the first try.
The more you reinforce that listen->learn->play process, the easier it will be to get to the innards of ITM.
Oh, and take your whistle everywhere. Play it at stoplights, in the park, at your desk, in the line up for Dairy Queen…

I’m a noob myself (about 4 weeks). I practice almost everynight.
You might want to check out Ryan Duns tutorials on You Tube. I learned quite a bit there! There are also other players on You Tube…
I’d also reccommend the Irish and Celtic podcast by Marc Gunn

..um - luckily I don’t know the 2nd one - but - thanks - I have the 1st one in my head now… 
if you have otheres in your household, you might even hear them humming some of your tunes…
