I know you all are busy debating whether Pratten or Rudall is better (:)), but for those of you who haven’t visited Phil Hardy’s website in awhile, I implore you to check out the new videos Phil has posted of the Dave Williams Memorial Weekend - features sessions with John McSherry, Becky Taylor, Mike McGoldrick (on his mighty Grinter flute), Grace Allen (on her mighty Abell whistle), Francey McIlduff, Donal O’Connor, Paddy Keenan (on his mighty DW pipes), and other personal heroes of mine. This is really what it’s all about - some of the most perfect music-making by some of the greatest masters alive, and a really beautiful, fitting tribute to one of the great Irish pipemakers of all time.
Fair play to you Phil for providing such an amazing wealth of music to all of us - by the way, if you’re reading, have you any idea the names of those tunes Mike and Grace play on the clips under ‘Pick of the Week’? Would appreciate it.
