The whistles. Personally I have nothing against his avatar except for the fact that it is innappropriate for this board. Don’t get me wrong on that I have nothing against somebody looking at a picture of breasts (or a flash movie and I mean macromedia so don’t even think about making a joke about that) but this is supposed to be a family board.
I didn’t think your avatar was offensive. I say put it back. I understand the other point of view, but it just didn’t seem outside what a person could easily see anywhere or anytime.
The fact that you can see that anywhere you go should tell you something about the society we live in. I think a line should be draw somewhere because it does affend some people I know Stacey showed some offence at it meaning that it might affend more poeple. I personally don’t have anything against it except for the fact that it was affending some people.
Well, doesn’t that just go to show…err, yes, that’s exactly…uhh,…
I hope, sir, (ummm, I hope you are a sir, that was the impression I had but you never know, [see above]), as I said, I hope you are not refering to the very fine French Bulldog I use for my avatar. Rarely would one see such a sensitive face among those of the human race.
I wonder if perhaps Stacey was joking.
Her signature:
" Stacey has the most bodacious fipples!
<)))>----<(((><"
seems rather suggestive to me. I wasn’t offended by it but I don’t think I misunderstood it. I don’t think that could be a picture of a whistle could it? I don’t know.
At last someone that can see things the way they are and not how they would like them to be, Its not about whistles its about me being me without the Your a whistle maker stick to beat me with what would folk have, we don’t like yer avatars!!!
Smoot I was only jokin DUH
As i had some grief over less
But that seems to be par for the course on these boards.
Folks always think I’m only here to sell crap to them and that they are here for fun. wake up an smell the ------- — I like to have fun too and just because I happen to be a whistle smith it don’t make it right to give me a hard time.
Take me as I have to take you
Stacey,
I tppk your comments in stride, but when Gary mentjoned it being perhaps PG13 rated, that settles it for me. If it makes one person feel a wee bit uncomfortable, that is always one person too many. I am sure Smoot can come up with something else!
The generic word no doubt has no connotations, good or bad, of itself, divorced from the context of the absurdly racist group, whose 20th Century incarnation, which rose to prominence throughout the United States (and, even into Canada) between the world wars, was apparently sparked by a play and silent movie of this name (spelled with a C, but now better known as The Birth of a Nation). However, it will naturally raise the hairs of most people familiar with the shameful history of crimes against humanity of that organization.
Well, Stacey said she was joking and the offended person was only offended because he or she (I guess if this is Gary, the one called Avery, it would be a he) thought someone else was offended, so it seems like really no one has a problem with Stewy’s avatar. I know of someone who is 14 who uses the forum, but not of anyone who is 13. It isn’t that I have real strong feelings about the avatar itself one way or the other, but I just hate to see someone having a bit of harmless fun not get to keep having it. Whatever you feel is best I’m sure will be fine.
Glad you clarified that, Gary.
As for the rest, I am lost and I intend to stay that way.
