I have a couple of old Gen bflats (nickle and brass)that are really quite good. Although Sindts are wonderful whistles and I love my d and c, I found the A and Bflat somehow “boring.” Others really like them though. I have a wonderful Overton Bflat, but that is certainly not flutey or mellow or anything like that. I also have three wonderful wood whistles - Abell, Grinter, TW, they’re all great, but if you want to go for the bucks I’d suggest the Abell to fit your wants.
I don’t have a WW bflat but do have the A and I believe they’re made from the same tubing - a truly great reliable affordable whistle with mellow yet strong sound and good volume.
Finally, I’d kill (only in my mind) for a Copeland Bflat.
I own a Hoover Bb aluminum non-tunable and a Burke Bb Alpro. They are both wonderful instruments, completely playable and predictable in both octaves. The Hoover has a bit of chiff, while the Burke is exceptionally pure and sweet. My preference? Don’t have one… I play them both, depending on my mood and the type of music… Mike Burke is successfully working hard on his delivery times, and the wait for a Hoover is well within reason, even with Mack’s monthly list cut-off . You cannot go wrong with either.
Cheers.

Quite right, the WW Bb and A made with the same tubing. Very similar, though perhaps the Bb is a shade better.
That’s odd. I’ve never met a Gen Bb I liked. The last one I bought was the only one not tweeked to death. I did put a Sweetone mouthpiece on a Gen Bb, which is OK, but I wouldn’t play it in public. I do have a Dixon Bb which has a nice low end, but the upper end doesn’t play very well. I have a Sindt Bb, but the tone is a little on the strange side, although It plays wonderfully. I should get a Bb composite from Burke. -JP
The Sindt Bb is mellow and flutey, and what’s more, mine (arrived yesterday) is going back to John (I don’t like mellow and flutey which is why). So John Sindt will have one right now in time for the birthday (Sindt whistles are truly glorious and very highly rated on this board).
Sindt has a pretty long waiting list, so I seriously doubt Mujo or anyone else (not famous) could call him up and get the whislte you’re returning as there are 8 months worth of other folks in line…
