The Twelve Pins (Charlie Lennon) named for the Connemara hills presumably

Thanks Mark - I know the tune just forgot the name.
And a wonderful tune it is. Played after Ril an Spideal. At least that’s how Charlie plays them. Two of his best. The opening bars of Twelve Pins are very dramatic. Like the opening bars of Beethoven’s Fifth.

Love that tune, and the one that goes before (Ril an Spideal). In fact, I’ve recently resurrected them and inflicted them on our little tune-learning group. According to Mr. Lennon’s notes it is indeed named after Galway’s Twelve Bens, aka The Twelve Pins. His recording of the pair is one of my favorites anywhere.
