So, a lot of folks have posted pics of their newborns/toddlers/young ones putting a whistle in their mouth.
My own son has blown in them many times and laughed while wiggling his fingers around the holes.
Today, I actually taught him Old MacDonald on the whistle, and he grasped the “lift one finger to go up one note” concept. He says he’ll practice every day..
I’ve had a similar experience with my daughters. I bought each of them a Meg a couple of years ago and they played around with them a little. But, every few days I’ll hear one of them pick it up and start picking out a little tune - Old MacDonald or Mary Had a Little Lamb, or something simple like that. It’s really cool. One is seven and the other is almost nine.
