Just wanted to let everyone know how pleased I am with my new Tipple low B flute. I had previously ordered a Bb from Doug but found the stretch too much to manage. I am delighted with the B. I still find the stretch tough, but manageable, and with some practice I think I will have it down. The workmanship and the sound is just wonderful. Can’t really believe that I can get such a deep, sonorus sound out of a piece of plumbing pipe! I have yet to install the wedge, as I am currently concentrating on covering the finger holes. Love to hear from any of you who have played a low Tipple flute. Sound files coming (after I get a grip on covering the holes!).

Speaking of sonorous, last night I was messing with my Hammy Practice Flute at a kitchen session because I was mad at my nach Meyer 
(I tried to remove that buzz you mentioned and broke the embouchure 
) After looking in the end post swabbing to see if I got it all I was inspired to try playing it upside down like a trumpet, but fingering it like a whistle.
“The rest is left to the student as an exercise.” 
PS - don’t worry, the embouchure is back again after another spell in the shop. 
I have a Tipple low D, with bohem plate and wedge. three pieces tunable.
It is a fabulous instrument, much better than my playing talent !

Notice the reverse taper? Now I’m going to have to pull the head joint off my wooden flute and stick down a couple keys and see what happens…
