Again, a presumption, but I thought all cats liked music to some degree or other. All mine appear to have, anyway. My present one is actually a critic and gives me The Look when I’m not at my best. And if I’m playing a new tune she likes, often she’ll act celebratory and go all nutso wild, trying to make me laugh.
Back in my Bowie-craze days, I had a cat sit next to the speaker with closed eyes and a smile when Aladdin Sane was on. Now that’s weird.
Does anyone else’s cat like to sleep with it’s head upside-down? The rest of it is laying down normal, but it’s got its head upside-down. My Frisky used to do it all the time, but yesterday I saw Pepper do it for the first time. She looked goofy, but oh-so-cute.
Why is it, that wherever you put your feet, the cat always wants to walk exactly there? I was coming down the stairs this morning, and you know when you go past the point of no return, when your foot is nearly on the stair below, and there’s no going back? Well, the kitten decided she was going to run upstairs right where my foot was going to go. Needless to say, there was a lot of yelling, wobbling from left to right (by me and the kitten), and a loud bump and another yell as I ended up at the bottom of the stairs!
The kitten is completely unscathed and looking smug. I’ve got a carpet burn on my wrist and look annoyed! Could have been worse!
Sometimes mine gets underfoot, but that’s only when she’s gone all fizzy and ants-in-her-pants excited about something and has thrown caution to the winds. Instead what she does is have periods where she’ll follow me around, but indirectly, like. She’ll show up to peek around corners or stand in doorways and watch what I’m doing, like she’s taking notes. Then when I move on to the next thing, she bolts away with a mutter and disappears, and then shows up again at the new location peering at me. Slightly creepy if you think about it too much. No such coynesses in the kitchen, though.
LOL, No problem with cats underfoot at my house! Hubby is a maintnance guy–stomps around in big heavy steel-toed boots. EVERYBODY in the house keeps out from under his feet!
Now, the long-haired white cat I had for 10 years, Linda (Spanish for ‘beautiful’) drove us nuts. Didn’t want to be handled unless you were wearing black–she would coat us all with long white hairs. Just to mark us visibly as her territory I think.
Pure white with long hair and mismatched eyes (one blue and one yellow) she was hands down the most beautiful–and toughest–cat I ever owned. Hubby has hated siamese cats ever since his sister had an incredibly nasty one years ago–caught him standing by the door laughing his butt off one evening…Linda had just chased one out of the yard, slapping his hindquarrters every third step to hasten his retreat! Tore a couple of mini dachsunds a new one one day when they challenged her in our yard, and harassed a young groundhog til it left never to return. LOVED to sit on the hay bales next door–then would suddenly launch herself into midair to drop from above on some poor hapless rat.
