My cat likes to lick the shower curtain. When it’s dry.

Cat = weird = redundant phrase
We had one that loved to eat wasps and jalapeños, and wouldn’t let you walk a straight line.
We have one… er had one until very recently… that loved to eat ants.
and now we have one who licks mud…
Weird. … Ancient word for cat.
You americanos know nuttin about cat weirdness.
Have you ever seen a cat being chased by a mouse? Hmmm?
![]()
Actually yes!
It is an hysterical sight! (ducking Cran’s flung slipper for the 'an with the h word)
I had a wonderful orange cat named Jack once, who ate black-eyed peas.
The shower curtain and mud eating suggests there are minerals the cat craves.
Eating ants seems like a normal thing to do. There are a great many animals, including humans in many parts of the world, who eat ants. Insects have nutrients in their shells that are difficult to get elsewhere. Chondroitan and glucosamine, nutrients sold as supplements that provide building blocks for connective tissue, are made from lobster shell, which is the same material as insect shells (what is a lobster, after all, but an enormous aquatic cockroach?).
Best wishes,
Jerry
my dad’s cat likes to jump up to pull the push pins off the cork board…I don’t know if that’s weird or not, although it seems weird to me. I obviously don’t have a cat. But I do have kids, and I can attest that they are WAY more weird than any cat I’ve ever seen
Have you seen a dog being chased by a cat? It was actually quite awful because the poor little dog was just hysterical. That was Hannah, now gone.
Flora likes grits and flops on my face in the middle of the night, having no respect for my need of oxygen.
Lilly…well, we think she is actually a being from another planet…so she wouldn’t really fit into this thread.
Oh, I just love them, my little nutty ones.

I have seen a squirrel chasing a cat - it was pretty funny. I was watching out the window. First I saw the cat stalking the squirrel (doing the commando crawl that cats do), then the next thing I saw was the cat running away with the squirrel chasing and scolding it. The cat looked terrified!

Our grey shorthair, when I was about 12, beat the living daylights out of the unsuspecting boxer that inadvertantly took a shortcut through his territory… poor thing! LOL That little cat had that great big dog cowed for certain! WE never saw that dog again. ![]()
It isn’t any better when it is a Great Dane…

Oh dear
That poor dog must have needed psychotherapy after that.

My cat likes to lick my hair. When I just washed it and it’s still not dry.
Probably thinks you missed a few spots and wants to clean it up for you ![]()
Could be a good explanation… But then why does it not do it before I wash it?

Just remembered another good one… when I was about nine and my middle brother about 15, he went to get his hair cut (in those days the barber was apt to coat said shorn head with something rather odiferous to say the least)… in walks my brother, sits down on the couch and begins to chat or read or whatever it was… up walks the cat on the back of the couch, leans over to get a good whiff and proceeds to bite my poor brother on the noggin! Guess he didn’t care for the parfume!

A few weeks ago, I found my kitty sitting on top of my dresser with my sock drawer open, fully occupied in flipping all of my socks out onto the floor. She really is a naughty kitty. ![]()
My parents had a cat that absolutely hated their dog. One day, the dog was trotting merrily around the yard and happened to walk close under the edge of the front porch, which is about 4 feet high. As the dog walked by, the cat (who had been hiding behind a potted plant) jumped onto the dog’s back and dug in. The dog squealed and took off at a run, with the cat hissing and holding on for the ride. After a couple of minutes, the cat let go and jumped off, still hissing at the dog. Ever afterward, that dog gave the front porch a wide berth anytime he walked by.
