OK on the banjo video,Walden (considering that we are talking about banjos), but can you sing? I’m waiting to hear some of those gospel words from your lips. That might make me a believer.

um, ah, maybe it’s just me old boy but

I think yer stage demeanor is a tad overly dour.

Here’s an example of another banjo player, one that smiles

ah, maybe it is the singing

might want ta try whistling,
pretending yer havin’ fun…

Best,
Denny

But grinnin’ ain’t my thing!

well, keep yer day job then

You just been brainwashed by Roy Clark and Buck Owens. It can’t be helped.

 naw

But Buck had a tiger by the tail, it was plain to see.

I think it’s authentic. And you, a traditionalist. Tsk.

Nice playing there, Walden. Good rhythm, catchy lift, and the melody is clear.

I bet no one ever told Gerry O’Connor to smile more.

For SURE one ever told Eddie Davis to smile more:

I don’t know what my point is. Fearfaoin just got me to thinking. Blame him.

Hey Walden, why didn’t you post this in the Trad Strings Forum?

Cause I figured this was the busier forum.

An entertainer to the bone.

Mind if I copy it over to there, too? Categorical venue, and all that.

Go right ahead.

Et voilà! The marvel of bilocation.

Hmm. Nope. It’s more like mitosis. Posts here in the Pub don’t automatically transfer over. Sorta like “What happens in Vegas…”

Did I ever tell you’all about my incident of being seen two places (100 miles apart) at the same time. It was back in the 70’s, and I was thinking about driving out to a little town near the Mexican border in Arizona to visit a friend. An agricultural worker reported to my friend that he had seen me drive up in my old 1956 Chevrolet and wait and then finally leave. However, it wasn’t until the following day that I actually drove out to the ranch. My friend said that he was sorry that he had missed me the previous day, as he was away from the property. Juan, who knew me well by sight, was irrigating nearby had told him about my visit, it seems.

Well, the '70s. 'Nuff said?

But hey, that happened to me, too, and just a few months ago. Well, only maybe a mile or so apart and in Minneapolis. The guy swore up and down it was me; same jacket, aspect, gait, face, everything. I think he even said I waved at him. He is not known for being under strange influences, buyable or otherwise. But I distinctly remembered being elsewhere at that time, and anyway, where he saw me would have been a place very unlikely for THIS me to be at on foot. Still…far be it from me to say I really ever know what I’m up to. You know, it’d be nice if I could be around for this stuff when it happens. Might get a few things done.

Sometimes there is a glitch in the Matrix.

I am a dour person. Always have been.

In your current facebook photo you have a smile, and dour people don’t smile (ever).
