More Publications from SWAUP

Good Evening All,

Just a quick post to draw attention to some more free publications from those good people at the SouthWestern Association of Uilleann Pipers (SWAUP).

During his visits to study at the London Pipers Club, Edwin Spring transcribed the tunes he was taught into two substantial volumes, namely ‘Camden Breeze’ and ‘A Supplement to Camden Breeze’. These two volumes were distributed in book form to members of SWAUP and its associates and many a piper (including myself) has had cause to thank Edwin for providing so many of us with a library of excellent tunes, all of which have been transcribed with the uilleann piper in mind.

I have known for some time that Edwin has been wishing to place Camden Breeze online and as such I was delighted when Edwin recently gave me a disk with the first few tunes ready to be uploaded to the SWAUP website. At present there are 4 tunes to download, but I am certain that many, many more will follow and a fine online library will be the end result.

The tunes (in PDF format) can be downloaded from the SWAUP website (www.swaup.org) and will be found in the section headed ‘Update March 2003 - Camden Breeze Online’.

Many thanks and my best wishes to you all,

Steve Turner (SWAUP Webmaster)

Thanks to Steve and the rest of the SWAUP members, not only for the music, but their generous other offerings like the Uilleann Handbook and the Reedmaking handbook (Eddie and Laurie Climo) and the notes from Patsy Touhy. Good people.

Thank you Pipey…glad to know that our offerings are well received
